“Couldn't fault our recent stay at Old Downton Lodge. It's a hidden gem - luxurious, full of charm and the tranquil, rural location was just what we needed. We stayed in the Four Poster room and found it to be fully equipped and immaculately clean. The staff couldn't do enough for us (from the moment we reserved the room online!) and were lovely to chat to throughout the dinner service. Every element of our meal was devoured. Special mention to the sticky toffee pudding with Granny Smith sorbet - divine!”

I have avoided writing a review for a long time as we didn't want to risk it becoming so busy that we couldn't get in, but it's only fair that the team are recognised for what they have achieved. Food - always exceptional quality, using seasonal ingredients expertly combined to compliment. Service - an amazing team who are always friendly, courteous and attentive. This is true Shropshire hospitality at its absolute pinnacle. Location - sitting in the courtyard with pre/post dinner drinks really is our happy place. The cottage garden is beautifully arranged and maintained.”

On arrival we received a warm welcome, followed by impeccable service, a divine menu and phenomenal food. Each course was delightful, served by a knowledgable team and with thought put in to curate tantalising mouthfuls. We would highly recommend and look forward to visiting again in the future.
